Here is an example of what my husband and I do together. My husband makes versatile frames. I create the drawing and cut the matte boards.
The story of this finished work is an important part of the subject. I used prismacolor pencils to create this picture from a photograph I snagged from my niece. This photo was taken minutes before the 2nd event at a Salina, UT horse show in September 2011. During that event, my nieces horse suddenly collapsed. He landed on her leg. There were many people who came to help, even giving the horse CPR, which revived him just long enough for her to get out from under him. The horse turned around and laid his head on my niece's leg and looked at her one last time. It broke my heart and this inspired me to draw this for her and my husband to give it the perfect barn wood frame.
